Music while you Sign the register

Wow, it’s been way too long since I shared some stories and advice here. I am trying to get back into a routine for my wedding blog so here we go…

Ok let’s talk about music for Signing of The Register 📖🖋️
The amount of music needed for this varies from wedding to wedding so I always advise to have 2 or 3 pieces of music on your list for this part of the wedding ceremony and list them in order of preference so you’ll hear your favourite song or hymn first.

Church Weddings

✨ If it’s a church wedding – as featured here – some photographers will take the opportunity to get more shots at this point before family and friends disperse and make their way to the wedding reception, so it’s best to have enough music to fill that time.

Non-Church ceremonies

✨ If you’re having a Humanist, Spiritual, Civil wedding ceremony etc. then 1 piece of music is usually enough as there may be other parts of the ceremony still to come (your solemniser/celebrant/registrar will be able to advise you on this. And speaking from experience, many of them do not want a full blown photoshoot at this point as it interrupts the flow of the ceremony).

Watch it all in real time

✨ I usually edit my videos into short clips but I’m posting the full video of The Signing of The Register and Recessional song as I let the camera run to give you an idea of the time frame.
✨ You’ll notice me signalling to the photographers & videographer that I can see they are ready to start the recessional piece and then a quick change over for the final song.
