"I don't know" is the ANSWER
The video above is currently sitting at 412,900 views on my wedding singer TikTok account with more than 210k views across the rest of my social media. What’s crazy about it is, I reckon the video took me maybe an hour at the most to create.
I did the usual: crop, add text, add some silly animations and the Wedding Singer Éire logo of course and upload. I didn’t think for a second that it would get the response that it did. People seem to love it and I’m still not sure what the secret ingredient is here. Maybe it’s the smile…. 🙂
It got me thinking…
As a wedding singer in Ireland, I think it’s important to have a strong online presence. Why I hear you ask? The answer to that one is simple.
In order to reach our target audience nowadays, wedding vendors need to stay relevant and connected with our potential clients who are constantly researching online, spending hours scrolling through the likes of TikTok and Instagram and ultimately, looking for inspiration for the perfect wedding!
Admittedly, as a wedding singer and musician, it is hard work trying to balance all that this job entails; practice, travel, loading in and setting up of equipment and the big one – ADMIN! Add social media to that list and you’ll find you have a jam-packed schedule.
So, what’s considered
“going viral” these days?
I had to google this one because honestly, I would not have a clue. Some articles will tell you that 20,000 views or more is considered viral content while others will say anywhere between 250,000 and 2 million views in a week is viewed as achieving viral status.
If you’re familiar with my content you will know that I record everything on my phone. I keep it simple and try to portray my real self. It might be a video of me singing at a recent wedding or just sharing some highlights from a wedding venue I visited recently. I don’t consider myself a “content creator” but I suppose it is content that I’ve created so I ‘ve started (cheekily) to include #contentcreator with some of my reels and wedding singer videos. Who knows, if the voice ever gives up on me maybe I could become a professional wedding content creator – it’s all the rage nowadays.
Maybe I just got lucky this time
So did I go viral? I’ve still no idea, but I do know I reached a lot of people and gained a lot of new followers with that little video. So here’s hoping the next successful video post will be along very soon so I can keep the momentum going.
